Suspected homicide victim identified

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – DETAILS provided by the police about a suspected homicide involving a female on St. Kitts, indicate that she was identified as Rochelle Bennett of George Street, Newtown.

     

    According to a police press release, sometime after 4:00 p.m. on Sunday (Nov. 22), ranks of a  Beat and Patrol reported to the Criminal Investigation Department that a woman was found unconscious on the sidewalk along the Newtown Bay Road in the vicinity of the T-junction at the end of Sandown Road. 

     

    It also stated that the woman bore wounds about her body and she was transported by an ambulance of the Emergency Medical Service to the JNF General Hospital, where she died later that night. 

     

    Law enforcement sources told SKNVibes that the woman's body bore signs of injuries that may have been as a result of a beating.
     
    An autopsy is expected to be performed to determine the exact cause of her death and an investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances that led to her demise.
