Plug pulled on major fetes for Christmas Season

By: Staff Reporter, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts- ORGANISERS of the popular Inception Fete Breaking Dawn and Cooler Fete have cancelled their events for 2020 due to the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases and the imposed restrictions.

The organisers made the announcement on their various social media pages about the cancellation in advance of their proposed staging dates.

Those of the Inception Fete noted that they believe the best fete is a safe fete.

The Planning Committee pledged support for the efforts to control the spread of COVID-19  in the Federation and, as a result, with the capacity limitations “we have made the very difficult decision to cancel all remaining events for 2020”, which include Breaking Dawn 5.0.

Following the announcement of three additional imported COVID-19 cases, Cane Juice, the organisers of the popular fete explained that they have brought all “plans and intent with Cooler Fete Blaq to a halt”.

“While we can provide all the pros to hosting events during this time, the Cane Juice team must also recognise that the major con would be for our brand to be the source of a super community spread. We are therefore making the responsible and wise decision to cease current plans,” the statement added.

Cane Juice added: “We will begin and complete sending refunds to ALL ticket purchasers on Monday 7th December. We will revisit the possibilities in the future when it is safe to host. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused to any small business, bookings, individual plans, expenses and expectations.”

Meanwhile, the Inception Fete organisers noted that the constraints over the COVID-19 would hamper the quality of the event that patrons have grown accustomed to.
