By: Staff Reporter, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, ST. Kitts - THE two Royal Caribbean Group vessels that were safe harbouring in St. Kitts and Nevis have departed Port Zante.

Officials at the St. Kitts Tourism Authority confirmed the departure of the vessels yesterday (Jan. 8) due to “operational needs.

The vessels, Grandeur of the Seas and Rhapsody of the Seas, both docked in St. Kitts on December 11 and December 6, 2020 respectively and were expected to spend 60 days in the first instance.

“The Royal Caribbean Group has advised the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis, that due to operational needs for both the Grandeur of the Seas and the Rhapsody of the Seas and their respective shoreside teams, the vessels will be relocated as of today, Friday, January 8th, 2021,” the SKTA said in a media statement.

The Rhapsody of the Seas had 78 crew members when it docked back in December and all personnel returned negative COVID-19 results.

In the case of the Grandeur of the Seas, that vessel brought with it more than 70 crew members and they all also tested negative.
