BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - FOLLOWING yesterday’s (Jan. 9) shark attack in St. Kitts and Nevis’ waters, the Department of Marine Resources is calling on residents to be careful while out at sea.
No official statement has been issued on the incident from any law enforcement agency up to press time; however, SKNVibes understands that a statement from an educational institution on St. Kitts has warned of shark sightings.
The Department of Marine Resources in a statement explained that it has received increasing reports of sightings of sharks within the Federation’s economic zone.
Against that backdrop, the Department is asking all citizens and residents plying the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, for whatever purpose, to be extremely cautious.
