BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE visitor arrival experience at the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport is expected to be enhanced by the recent donation of a flat screen television from the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
In a brief handing-over ceremony at the airport yesterday (Sep. 29), Resident Taiwanese Ambassador to the Federation His Excellency Rong Chuan Wu presented a new BenQ LCD television to the Chairman of the St. Christopher Air and Sea Port Authority (SCASPA), Lincoln Maynard.
Wu said the Embassy was willing to donate another television set to SCASPA in order to further enhance the overall experience at the “doorway to this beautiful country”.
“With the aim to enhancing the Federation's international image and attract more tourists to come, this Embassy is pleased to donate the LCD television to pass the passion and enthusiasm of the people of the Federation to tourists, who are very important to the economic development of St. Kitts and Nevis,” he said.
In response, Maynard expressed the gratitude of SCASPA, as it acknowledges the Embassy for its continued contributions to national development. He stated that the television donation is a token of friendship from Taiwan that reflects the country’s longstanding commitment to assist the Federation.
Head of Corporate Affairs and Public Relations at SCASPA, Delcia Bradley-King, echoed the sentiments of Maynard, adding that the television would enhance the appearance and ambience of the arrival hall.
“We are pleased with the contribution because it’s upgrading what we had. We are always pleased when persons can identify a need and work to meet that need. It has a lot to do with believing in what we do and working along with us to improve the visitor experience so St. Kitts is a place that people would want to return to,” Bradely-King said.
The SCASPA official informed that the television would be used to display promotional material about SCASPA and the island in general. The donation is the second television the Embassy has donated to the institution.
