NASPA, COVID & you: How we are keeping our clients safe in the COVID-19 pandemic

    NASPA Long Point Nevis (January 31st, 2021) – In an effort to continue our preemptive measures and to fortify our ports on the island from the 2019 Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Nevis Air and Sea Ports Authority (NASPA), has put a series of new procedures in place to safeguard the clients and travellers that use our facilities.

     

    Additionally, NASPA has improved its facility and implemented a series of initiatives to prevent and combat the possible spread of the COVID-19 infection to the general public.

     

    The added enhancements at our ports include:

     

    •    Retrofitting of all public counters for easy cleaning

     

    •    Installation of cough & sneeze guards at all areas with customer interactions

     

    •    Use of technology for self-cleaning surfaces on all doors and door handles

     

    •    Installation of automatic doors in high traffic areas

     

    •    Addition of health facility at the Vance W. International International Airport which includes, screening, lab, office, donning & duffing area, isolation room, waiting room and restrooms

     

    •    Enhanced security procedures to allow for less human to human contact

     

    •    Disinfection of all incoming and outgoing cargo and airline baggage into the airport

     

    •    Disinfection of the facility after each international flight

     

    •    Massive cleaning of all ports to create a healthier environment

     

    •    Scheduled fogging of all ports with the use of hospital-grade disinfectant

     

    •    Covid 19 specific cleaning schedule

     

    •    All security and cargo personnel provided with personal protective gear which includes face shield, sanitiser, gloves etc.

     

    •    Hazardous waste procedures established across all the ports

     

    •    Increase of hand sanitizing stations across all ports to include both automatic and manual

     

    •    Increased signage promoting a healthy lifestyle

     

    •    Touchless faucets in all airport bathrooms
