February 1st, 2021 -- Grenada Red Cross implements social actions in support of populations affected by the Covid19 pandemic, with the support of EU Humanitarian Aid | Latin America & Caribbean and PIRAC the Regional Intervention Platform in the Americas and the Caribbean; Founded in 2005, PIRAC based in Guadeloupe, has more than 10 years of experience in the area.
It is a privileged partner for the National Societies of the region, which have signed cooperation agreements with it, including Haiti, Dominica, Barbados, Saint Lucia, Jamaica, Suriname, as well as the International Federation of Societies of the Red Cross, the Croissant Rouge (FICR) and the territorial delegations of the French Red Cross (CRF).
The objective of PIRAC is to strengthen in each territory, inter-Caribbean cooperation in the field of the response to natural disasters through the International Red Cross and Croissant Rouge Movement, this by pooling material resources and human resources of each, and by organizing the operational response to the emergency at the regional level.
