CHARLESTOWN, Nevis - TWO foreign nationals, who were charged for quarantine-related breaches, appeared in court before a Magistrate in Charlestown, Nevis on Wednesday (Feb. 17) and pleaded guilty to their respective charges.
According to a police communiqué, the two individuals are Guiseppe Macon-Goudeau, a citizen of the United States of America, and Amanda Chang, a national of Jamaica who resides at Church Ground, Nevis.
Macon-Goudeau, who had arrived in the Federation on Sunday (Jan. 31), was charged on Monday (Feb. 15) for Breaching his Quarantine Conditions.
On the said day of his arrival, he had reportedly left his room at the quarantine site to meet with Chang at site’s fence, and she was charged on the following day for the offence of Visiting a Quarantine Site.
They were both ordered by the Magistrate to pay $5,000 each forthwith or, in default, serve a six-month sentence at Her Majesty’s Prison.
They however paid the fine and were released from police custody.
