International traveller test positive one day after arrival in Federation

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE Ministry of Health late Friday (Mar. 12) announced that one day earlier the Federation had received confirmation of another case of the COVID-19.

     

    According to a statement from the Ministry of Health, the patient, who has been described as an international traveller, landed in the Federation on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 from the United States of America.
     
    As per the usual, COVID-19 protocols for all passengers entering the Federation, the patient has been in quarantine at one of the COVID-19 certified sites since arrival.
     
    This additional case brings the total number of COVID-19 confirmed cases to 43, with 30 cases reported on St. Kitts and 13 on Nevis.

     

    The Ministry reminded that 41 cases have fully recovered with zero deaths.
     
    This recent case and the other active one that was confirmed on Wednesday (Mar 10) are  said to be in stable condition and are being monitored.

     

    Meanwhile, health officials have reported that since the beginning of the National COVID-19 Vaccination Program on February 22, 5,708 vaccine doses have been administered or 17.3% of the target population have received their first jab.
     
    “The AstraZeneca/Oxford COVID-19 Vaccine is the best shot at protecting ourselves and our Federation from the SARS-CoV-2 virus,” the Ministry explained.
