Kittitian female Dancehall/Reggae artiste releases new single

By: Suelika N. Creque, SKNVIbes
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – DEIDRIA ‘Cinnamon’ DELSOL, an aspiring Dancehall/Reggae sensation from St. Kitts, has recently released her latest single ‘I Can’t Help’.

The track was produced by Kennie Richardson of Kenny G Productions and was done on the Cross Bounce Riddim.

This single follows the March 2009 track (Put it On Me) that was also produced by Richardson and done on the Extinction Riddim, in which it demonstrated the more provocative side of Cinnamon.

She is a singjay, deejay and songwriter, and is one of the few female dancehall and reggae artistes to hail from St. Kitts and Nevis.

She can be defined as a raw and edgy artiste with provocative lyrics, but also a sensual Reggae artiste with a smooth and suave sound.

This single shows the more emotional side of Cinnamon, as she expresses her feelings to a member of the male gender with whom she has just started to get familiar.

“I wanted to write something that would show persons that I can be that soft, sweet girl from across the street and not always a hardcore deejay that they have come to know.

“It’s something that ladies can hear and start to reminisce about the days when they first fell in love or had crushes. Something that they can just rock away to in the clubs during those slowdown segments,” she said.

The single is hoped to be a chart topper not only in St. Kitts but also worldwide just like ‘Put it On Me’, which has enjoyed being in the number nine position on UK‘s online radio station www.splashhitsmedia.com top 10 countdown.

Promotions in the UK and Japan for ‘I Can’t Help’ are currently ongoing, according to the artiste who is signed by the UK-based label - Eclipse Inc.

The label is managed by Richard ‘J Killah Rich’ Cephus, who has been working nonstop in the UK on the career of the young artiste. Cephus said there are bigger and better things in the works.

Bigger and better things include new singles for the rest of the year and 2010 with overseas record labels such as Frass Dog Productions and High Stakes Records, just to name a few.

Other artistes featured on the Cross Bounce Riddim include DC and Hatcha, both from St. Kitts, and Damija and Jah Jah from Jamaica.

Even though Cinnamon wrote many love poems, it was not until she joined the Basseterre High School Young Leaders Club that she found her song writing talent.

Like many artistes, she started out singing in the church choir and was also a member of the church's dance group. She declared that dancing is her second passion. She was a member of the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College choir as well.

However, it was not until she met a young and aspiring artiste from St. Kitts by the name of Jah Fire, who approached her about collaborating on a new song, that she got the start to her singing career. Together, the two young artistes did a song called ‘Your Love’ on a national riddim by Kelvin Christopher of TTO Productions/Equator Records.

They also collaborated on ‘Only You’ on the Ballaz Riddim, which was produced by Yard Tune Productions.

She had performed at the Extacy Teen Bubble Show and the 2008 Independence Peace Concert.

Cinnamon is available for interviews and can be contacted at Eclipse Inc at (44) 750-670-4734 or (876) 667-2328 for scheduling interviews.
