PM Douglas to speak in Birmingham and Leeds

    BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, OCTOBER 6TH 2009 (CUOPM) – It’s the turn of nationals of St. Kitts and Nevis residing in two British cities to hear first-hand on developments in their homeland from Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas.
     
    Dr. Douglas, who is in London on official business, will meet with nationals in Leeds and Birmingham.
     
    The Prime Minister Douglas will meet nationals at the Leeds West Indian Centre on Thursday 8th October at 6.30 p.m.
     
    The meeting in Birmingham will be held at the Birmingham Community Association, Jenkins Street, Small Heath, on Friday 9th October 2009, starting 6.30 p.m.
     
    Nationals in the British cities and surrounding areas will hear of developments in the areas of healthcare, tourism including resort developments on the Southeast Peninsula and Frigate Bay, home construction island wide in addition to the over 3,000 homes built to date under government-sponsored housing programmes, agriculture, education and the economy.
     
    Also in attendance at the meeting will be St. Kitts and Nevis’ High Commissioner to the Court of St. James, His Excellency James Williams.
     
    The governing St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party has always included nationals in the disapora in the decision making process and solicit their views shaping of policies aimed at enhancing the quality of life.
     
    The Prime Minister and other Ministers of the Cabinet have always made it a priority to meet with Kittitians and Nevisians as well as national associations in town-hall style meetings when visiting the various capitals on official business.
