BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - AN altercation in the St. Paul’s area over the holiday weekend has left two males nursing injuries, with one sustaining a chop wound to his head and the other to his hand and foot.

A press release from the Police Force yesterday (Apr. 5) explained that Vincent Francis and Darren Caines, both of whom reside in St. Paul’s, were taken to the Pogson Medical Centre after being involved in an altercation in their village.

According to the police, they responded to a report of a wounding incident after 11:00 a.m. on April 02, 2021 and their preliminary investigations revealed that Caines had wounded Francis to his head with what appeared to be a knife.

In retaliation, Francis then injured Caines on his hand and foot with a machete.

Both of them were taken to the Pogson Medical Centre, where Caines was treated and discharged, while Francis was transferred to the J.N.F. General Hospital for further medical attention, where he was kept for observation.

He has since been discharged and police stated that investigations into the matter are ongoing.

A video on social media shows the two men in an altercation and one is seen running to vehicle brandishing what appeared to be a long sharp metal object.
