BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TWO brothers - Dijon Trotman (22) and Divon Trotman (21) – were slapped with murder charges in connection with the death of 38-year-old Keon Fyfield of Newtown.
Police, in s media statement, said that while the elder brother was charged on April 12, the younger one was charged on the following day. Both of them are residents of Stapleton Village.
In the media statement, police did not provide details in relation to Fyfield’s death and only said: “The incident occurred on March 07, 2021. Keon Fyfield had been warded at the JNF General Hospital from that date until his death on March 25.”
An autopsy was performed on Fyfield’s body by Resident Pathologist, Dr. Adrian Nuñez, who concluded that death was as a result of “pulmonary embolism due to prolonged bed rest as a consequence of severe head trauma with cerebral concussion”.
Mayoclinic describes pulmonary embolism as “a blockage in one of the pulmonary arteries in your lungs. In most cases, pulmonary embolism is caused by blood clots that travel to the lungs from deep veins in the legs or, rarely, from veins in other parts of the body (deep vein thrombosis)”.
