BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - POLICE are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discover of human remains in the Needsmust area.
According to a police press release, at about 11:00 a.m. on Friday (Apr. 23), while on a patrol in the Needsmust area, a member of the St. Kitts and Nevis Defence Force found bones which appeared to be that of a human being.
The police were informed and officers visited the scene along with personnel from the Forensic Department, who collected the the remains and pieces of clothing that were also found in the area.
The Forensic Department is now undertaking the process of trying to ascertain the identity of the remains.
The police are urging anyone who might have information regarding this matter to contact the Violent Crime Unit by dialling 467-1888, 662-3468, the nearest police station or the Crime Hotline at 707, where information could be given anonymously.
