BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE Federation has recorded its 46th case of COVID-19 when a national returned a positive result for the virus without a travel history.

Chief Medical Officer Dr. Hazel Laws informed that the individual is a hotel worker, who is in a stable condition and has been moved to isolation.

The Health Operating Committee met yesterday (May 19) afternoon to discuss plans to combat any fallout from the latest case, and a decision was made to mobilise a team to carry out contact tracing of all individuals of the current case.

“Our aim is to identify and engage all contacts of this case. All the contacts will be tested and placed into quarantine immediately,” explained Dr. Laws.

Dr. Law informed that 45 cases have so far recovered and one is active.
