By: Staff Reporter, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE Ministry of Health has backtracked on information it published earlier today (May 20) that there were two new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Federation.

Early this morning, the Ministry on it COVID19.gov.kn, website published information stating that there were 48 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Federation and three persons are in isolation, but late this afternoon the reported information stated that it was 46.

However, it left the section reporting that three people were in isolation as seen in the screenshot above, but by the end of the work day it was corrected to report one.

As all the information was removed, the Ministry republished that of last evening in which there were 46 confirmed cases with one person remaining in isolation.

Though no official press statement was issued, its website has been used by international agencies as a guide to the Federation’s COVID-19 numbers.

Health officials are currently still in deep contact tracing to locate all close contacts of case number 46, who is still in isolation and said to be recovering well.

Thus far, the Ministry has tested 14,305 persons with 46 returning positive numbers and 14,229 negative.

According to the Ministry, 578 people were at a quarantine facility while 9,327 were released so far.
