BASSETERRE,St. Kitts - THE Government has implement strict measures to combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus on the islands.
Among the measures to take effect immediately is the 11:00 p.m. to 5:00a.m. curfew that takes effect from this evening (May 25).
In a national address, Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris announced that curfew would be implement for 14 days.
He also stated that buses would have to operate at 50 percent with strict social and physical distancing.
DR. Harris also called for strict adherance to the COVID-19 protocols.
In addition, schools will remain closed for the next two weeks as they facilitate contact tracing efforts
With schools being closed, the Ministry of Education is said to be in discussions with CXC on rescheduling exams for local students.
There will also be no mass gathering of any sort in the Federation, while only fully vaccinated people will be allowed entry into the country.
Meanwhile, the PM called for sensitivity from the public as names and photos are circulating of individuals who are reportedly infected and are in quarantine with the virus.
