By: Stanford Conway & Jermine Abel, SKNVibes.com

CHARLESTOWN, Nevis - A 37-year-old male resident of Stoney Grove, Nevis was on Tuesday (May 25) slapped with two Robbery charges.

According to a police communiqué, Ketron Springette was charged on two warrants in the first instance for the offences of Robbery which took place on May 17, 2021 in Charlestown, and one warrant in the first instance for the offence of Robbery which took place on May 20, 2021 in Charlestown.

As was hightled on numerous occasions, the  police do not provide much details in many of their press releases and this often leaves media practitioners to either researh or base their reportage on assumptions.

Though this particular communiqué had provided dates and the general area in which the offences occurred, it did not specificall state the exact locations and upon whom the robberies were committed.

It is however logical to conclude that based on two previous police communiqués - “Police Appealing For Assistance With Investigations Into Robbery” and “Individual In Custody As Police Investigate Robbery In Charlestown(both dated May 21, 2021 - Springette is the person who allegedly committed the robberies.

The first communiqué stated that the police were seeking the public’s assistance with their investigations into an armed robbery that occurred in Charlestown on Monday (May 17).

In their request, the police however did not state in the communiqué exactly where the robbery took place, only to say it “occurred at an establishment in Charlestown”.

The communiqué further stated that “the police received a report on May 17 that a man was robbed of a sum of money by an unknown masked assailant sometime after 10:00 p.m. while at the establishment”.

It went on to say that the assailant was armed with what appeared to be a gun and that investigations into the matter are ongoing.

The second communiqué informed that a man was in police custody assisting them with their investigations into an armed robbery that occurred in Charlestown on Thursday (May 20).

It stated that at about 9:00 p.m. on the day in question, police had received a report that a gas station in Charlestown was robbed.

“Preliminary investigations so far have revealed that a masked assailant, armed with what appeared to be a gun, made his way into the gas station and robbed the establishment of a sum of money before making his escape,” the communiqué read.

It also stated that later that night, a man was taken into custody in relation to the robbery and investigations into the incident were ongoing.
