Another COVID-19 case detected

    Three recovered

     

    BASSETERRE. St. Kitts - THE latest COVID-19 situation report for St. Kitts and Nevis shows that the Federation has recorded one additional case.

     

    Chief Medical Officer Dr. Hazel Laws, in a media statement, indicated that over the last 24 hours the Federation had recorded its 69th case of the virus and that 48 of them have recovered.

     

    “Within the last 24 hours we have recorded one additional case...who is a national and is linked to previous cases. The individual is in isolation. This case brings the total number of COVID-19 confirmed cases to 69 with 55 cases for St. Kitts and 14 cases for Nevis. Please note that 48 cases have fully recovered with zero deaths,” noted Dr. Laws.

     

    With the three recoveries, there are now 21 active cases on the in the Federation. These cases are stable and are being monitored.

    All of this comes at a time when health officials are continuing with their contact tracing efforts to determine all who were in close contacts with those individuals who had tested positive for the virus.

     

    Currently, over 700 students from across the islands were tested and asked to remain in quarantine, as they were deemed to have been close contacts of various individuals who were positive.
