CHARLESTOWN, Nevis - A police report has indicated that James Edward Shuford Jr., the 52-year-old national of the United States of America whose lifeless body was found hanging inside his Bath Plains apartment, had committed suicide.
According to a police communiqué, an autopsy was performed on Shuford’s bosy yeaterday (June 10) by Resident Pathologist, Dr. Adrian Nunez, who concluded that death was due to mechanical asphyxia due to hanging.
The communiqué also staed that “no foul play is suspected”.
In a previous communiqué, police had stated that officers received a report sometime before 2:00 p.m. on Thursday (June 3) of the death of a man in Bath Plains.
In response, the officers found Shuford’s lifeless body hanging in a doorway inside his Bath Plains apartment.
The District Medical Officer was summoned to scene and pronounced him dead; and personnel from the Crime Scene Unit had also visited and processed the scene.
