Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis, June 11th, 2021: Sagicor team members in St. Kitts Nevis continued their support for the special education community when they paid a visit to the Cotton Thomas Comprehensive School in St Johnson Village, Basseterre to upgrade some of the educational spaces there.

The event which took place before the current surge being experienced in the Federation, was supported by administrative members of the school’s team. Mrs. Janelle Williams-Jacobs, Education Officer for the school expressed sincere thanks to Sagicor for the act of kindness as their School sometimes feels forgotten by the community. Also present were Mrs. Charmaine Blanchette, Principal and Ms. Julei Bradshaw, Autistic Teacher.

The Sagicor team did a lot of work that day including repainting of selected outside walls, painting of physical distancing markers in the entrance area of the School as well as the shapes and numbers on the walkway walls. Additionally, the team paid some attention to the autistic classroom where they painted the doorway and windows as well as painted shapes and numbers on the wall inside the classroom. They also brightened two hop-scotch play areas in the school yard.

The 10 Sagicor team members expressed great pride at the completion of the project. Denrick Connor, Sales Manager at Sagicor who was also present on the day said, “We started these activities in recognition of Autism Awareness Month, and it’s been a pleasure working with the administrators of the Cotton Thomas Comprehensive School and the Cecely Browne Integrated School. Their contribution to our children’s development is not insignificant and Sagicor is proud to play a small role in ensuring that they have what is needed to achieve their goals.”
