Federation records 36 new cases in 48 hours

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts -  PRIME MINISTER  Dr. Timothy Harris announced that over a 48-hour period the Federation has recorded 36 new cases of COVID-19.
     
    In his address to the nation last evening (June 11), Dr. Harris announced that at an emergency meeting of the Cabinet on Thursday, June 10, 2021, the Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Hazel Laws, informed that the number of positive cases continues to increase. 
     
    He disclosed that there were 11 positive cases confirmed on Wednesday (June 9) and there were  a further 25 positive cases reported on the following day. 
     
    These latest casers have taken the number of confirmed cases to 155, which is an increase of 111 in a short timeframe.
     
    According to the Prime Minister, the increase is of deep concern to the  Government. 

     

    Thus far, 61 persons have fully recovered while 94 of them remain active, with four hospitalised and one being very ill.
     
    All of the active cases of COVID-19 were discovered on St. Kitts.
