Jah Cure to return for St. Kitts’ pre-carnival concert

By: Suelika N. Creque, SKNVibes
BASSETERRE, S. Kitts – SKNVIBES PEP has learnt that the ‘Call on me’ artiste, Siccaturie Alcock, popularly known as Jah Cure, will be performing at a pre-carnival concert in St. Kitts later this year.

Jah Cure released his fifth album ‘The Universal Cure’ on the DangerZone Music Group and SoBe Entertainment in April this year with several hit singles, including the mega hit ‘Call on Me’ which features R&B artiste Phyllisia.

The release of his music video for the single ‘Never Find’ has also caused the song to be in heavy rotation on the airwaves.

This will be Cure’s second performance in St. Kitts as he first performed at the Chippie-sponsored Cure Concert held at Carnival Village on April 26, 2008.

Alfred Harley, General Manager of What’s Up, said that the concert would be a part of a Potential What’s Up Weekend Fiesta scheduled to take place from December 4-6.

Harley said that they are in negotiations with the highly in demand artiste who has gigs in Barbados and Holland that weekend.

“We will be pleased and fortunate to have him,” Harley said.

Meanwhile, the artiste maintains the number one spot on the New York Reggae Chart with the hit ‘Never Find’, which is on Don Carleon’s Changes Riddim.

The song is also said to be bubbling at number six on the South Florida Reggae Chart and is also getting good reviews, receiving over 135 000 hits on YouTube.

Another of the tracks to look out for is his collaboration with Christopher Ellis on ‘Why Can’t We’ on the Netzah Riddim. Ellis is the youngest son of famed singer Alton Ellis and is said to  be a credible singer himself.

On July 28, 2007, news rang throughout the Caribbean that finally ‘babylon’ had released The Cure.

He was in great demand as countries and promoters lined up for the opportunity to have the artiste perform at their event.

His list of hits include ‘Longing For’, ‘Love is’, ‘Reflections’, ‘To Your arms of love’, ‘Woman I love you’ and ‘What will it take’.

The Cure, spending eight years in jail for a crime he still maintains his innocence, had his divine faith shine through when he said that he believes his incarceration was Jah’s way of teaching him humility, kindness, forgiveness and love for his fellow man.

He is now focused on spreading the positive vibes as much as he could, reaching as many hemispheres and region as they would allow.
