Basseterre, 5 January 2006: It's Carnival Jubilee for UTS-CariGlobe (CHIPPIE) as the company sponsored troupes picked up five awards at the end of National Carnival 2005/2006 in St. Kitts-Nevis.

As the dust cleared after the National Carnival Parade day, it was announced that three troupes that CHIPPIE sponsored: Festival de Capisterre, Ronnie Rascal's Extreme J'ouvert Jumbies and Phunn Makers Crop Finale, captured a total of five awards, doing their sponsor proud and justifying the telecommunication company's partnership with them and the ideas they represented.

The one hundred and fifty something strong Festival de Capisterre troupe, which placed fourth in the Grand Parade, was the crowd favourite, particularly the Shirtless Boys Section, with their energy, creativity and performance, as they went through a choreographed routine, to the enjoyment of thousands of spectators and revelers. The Carnival Parade King of the Bands also came from Festival de Capisterre

Ronnie Rascal's CHIPPIE Xtreme J'ouvert Jumbies was judged the Best J'ouvert Troupe with some one thousand revelers jamming for hours through the streets of Basseterre then culminating the fun with the traditional "wash dung" on Bank Street.

Phunn Makers was adjudged the 2nd Best Troupe on Parade and its CHIPPIE sponsored Cane Fire section won the Queen of the Bands title.

The big surprise on Carnival day was, however, CHIPPIE's fabulous float appropriately entitled "ChippieLand" which wowed the large crowd lining miles of the parade route from Patsy Allers playing field, through Newtown and the Basseterre City centre. Many were heard to say that it was the best float to be showcased in a Carnival Parade for as far back as they could remember. The float was designed and built by Julian Pollard of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, who also designed the costumes for the children's carnival.

UTS-CariGlobe relationship with National Carnival in St. Kitts-Nevis is expected to be a long and fruitful one in the years to come, as the company continues to contribute to Nation Building
