CCAICACB’s Conference, AGM and election results

By: (CCAICACB), Press Release

July 22nd, 2021 -- The Commonwealth Caribbean Association of Integrity Commissions & Anti-Corruption Bodies (CCAICACB) held its annual conference via virtual means over the period June 30 to July 01, 2021. This year’s conference was held under the theme: “All In: Promoting Integrity, Compliance and Accountability in the fight against Corruption”. This is the second consecutive year that the conference was held virtually, due to the ongoing pandemic restrictions on face- to-face gatherings and exchanges.

The conference received country reports and presentations from luminaries across the Region, including Dr. Toussaint Boyce, Head, Office of Integrity, Compliance and Accountability at the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) and from other anti-corruption stakeholders addressing topical items such as “Managing Anti-corruption - Investigations and the Insider Threat”; “Corruption as a Political Problem”; and the recently launched Commonwealth’s “Anti- corruption Benchmarks”.

The annual general meeting (AGM), which followed the conference, saw the election of a new Executive. St. Kitts and Nevis have been honoured to have gained two representatives on the Executive, in the persons of Ms. Pearletta Lanns (Chairperson of the St. Kitts Integrity Commission) and Mr. Ricaldo Caines (Chairman of the Nevis Integrity Commission).

Other members of the Executive include: Chairman - Canon Mark Kendall, (Turks & Caicos Islands); Vice Chairperson – Lady Anande Trotman-Joseph (Grenada); Secretary – Ms. Liza Hanoman (Guyana); Treasurer – Mr. Cleophas Regobert (St. Lucia); Member – Mr. John Holmes (Dominica); Immediate Past Chairman Mr. Dirk Harrison (Jamaica); and Dr. Roger Koranteng as Representative of the Commonwealth Secretariat.

The CCAICACB was established in June 2015 in Grenada, and St. Kitts and Nevis was one of the 12 Commonwealth Caribbean countries as original signatories to this Regional Body to enhance transparency and help fight corruption.
