Tempo network announces star-studded artist lineup for Tempo turns 4

    It’s “Lights, Camera, Action!” on November 14th  when top artists in reggae, dancehall, soca and salsa music perform at TEMPO Turns 4 on St. Croix, Virgin Islands. TEMPO Founder, Chairman, & CEO Frederick A. Morton, Jr. this week announced the list of talent to an enthusiastic crowd at the Randall “Doc” James Racetrack on St. Croix—the site of the upcoming concert.
     
    Legendary Jamaican dancehall sensation Shabba Ranks will headline TEMPO Turns 4. One of the most popular dancehall artists of all time, Shabba Ranks has dominated the charts with his sensational lyrical style and showmanship. The first dancehall artist to win a Grammy Award, Shabba paved the way for a host of performers to follow, including Shaggy and Sean Paul.  The original

    TEMPO Turns 4 will introduce music lovers to one of the hottest salsa bands from Puerto Rico--N’KLABE.  Hailed as “the future of salsa music,” N’Klabe was formed in Puerto Rico in 2003 by Hector Torres, Felix Javier Torres and Ricardo Porrata.
     
    N’KLABE’s debut CD, Salsa Contra Viento y Marea, hit the charts in 2004 with an exciting mix of salsa tradition and pop. In 2005 N’KLABE released I Love Salsa!, which earned a nomination for Best Tropical Song at the 2006 Latin Grammys.
     
    Two of Jamaica’s fastest rising stars in reggae will perform their chart-topping songs—Tarrus Riley and Gramps Morgan.
     
    Riley took socially conscious reggae to new heights with his hit-laden CD, Parables. The single, She’s Royal dominated charts throughout the Caribbean and U.S.  Riley’s new CD, Contagious is currently in heavy rotation on Caribbean radio.
     
    Gramps Morgan’s distinguished raspy voice made him a standout in the group Morgan Heritage. Now, Gramps is enjoying rave reviews for his solo debut CD 2 Sides of My Heart Vol. 1.  The single Wash the Tears shot straight to  #1 on Canadian Reggae and Dancehall charts. The song also topped charts in Italy, Toronto, Jamaica, New York and South Florida.
     
    Soca music is definitely on tap for TEMPO Turns 4, with Trinidad native Iwer George. George is a three-time winner of Trinidad’s coveted Soca Monarch title. From the hit Carnival Come Back Again, to Iwer Dance and Ah Home, George has sealed his reputation as one of the leading soca artists in the region.
     
    The night also features the return of two artists who have made previous appearances at TEMPO concerts on St. Croix.
     
    Jamaica’s dancehall diva Ce’Cile will light up the stage with her sultry hits, including the still hot, I’m Waiting.  Ziggy Rankin returns to St. Croix, having just released his hit single, Gotta Get You Girl and is set to entertain the massive with his string of hits, including Miserable Life, Another One Gone Again and Love How Yuh Wining.
     
    Notably, local St. Croix artists join TEMPO Turns 4, performing the biggest hits that have ruled the Virgin Islands music charts during the past year. Those include: Road March Champions UMB Soldiers, reggae artist Mada Nile, and 2008 VI Idol winner Cherise King. DJ Poppy Pops of Isle 95 radio will spin the hits during the night.
     
    TEMPO Turns 4 kicks off at 4 p.m. with a pre-show featuring a mix of bands and disc jockeys. The pre-show lineup includes: Hart Attak band, Sabor Latino, Junior P, Sabbatical Addah, DJ No Limit (Antigua), DJ Devon (Trinidad), Fyah Emblem, DJ Saigon, and DJ Cool and Deadly.
     
    The Virgin Islands Department of Tourism is the Presenting Sponsor for TEMPO Turns 4.  Sponsors also include: Innovative Cable TV, WTJX-Channel 12, Tropical Shipping USA LLC, Sea Flights, Budget Rent-A-Car, Virgin Islands Lottery, and VI Sea Trans.
     
    Tickets are currently on sale at the following outlets: ST. CROIX: Alliance Clothing, Urban Threadz, La Reine Chicken Shack, Riddims,  Pancho's,  Parris Tees and Novelties, Essentric Shoe Boutique, One Love Service Station, and Morgan’s Enterprises.

    Tickets purchased prior to October 23, 2009 will be priced at $25 general admission, $35 bleacher section, and $100 VIP. After October 23, prices are $35 general admission, $45 bleacher section, $125 VIP.
