Illegal firearm found in abandoned building

By: Stanford Conway, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - IN their continuous effort to keep citizens and residents of the twin-island Federation safe, members of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) have taken yet another illegal firearm into custody.

According to a police communiqué, a search in an abandoned building on East Park Range was conducted on Thursday (Aug. 12), which unearthed a Smith and Wesson .40 Pistol.

The communiqué stated that officers of the RSCNPF routinely include empty lots and abandoned properties in their search operations around the Federation, which regularly result in the seizure of illegal firearms and illicit drugs.

“The move is part of an overall strategy to keep citizens and residents safe,” it added.

This latest find has taken to six, the number of illegal firearms to have been taken off the Federation’s streets for the year.
