Basseterre August 14 2021 -- At an impressive ceremony held on August 14th 2021 the Reach for Recovery SKB Breast Cancer Support Group opened a breast cancer support facility dubbed The Pink Zone. The location is at Unit 8 at the OOJJ’S Commercial Complex on the Camps Main Road.
In her remarks, president Pat Farrell highlighted some of the services that will be offered included free screening, counselling and body image resources in addition to being the office of the organization.
Minister of Health, Honourable Akila Byron Nisbett was present and in her remarks alluded to the significance, importance and relevance at this time for such a space. Minister Byron Nisbett revealed some statistics of the breast cancer situation in the Federation to reiterate that the Pink Zone was timely and needed and also congratulated the group members and made mention of the caring nature of its founder Agnes Farrell some nineteen years ago.
The general public is invited to visit the Pink Zone as there is something for everyone be it education or to support the efforts by purchasing gift items.
