BASSETERRE, St. Kitts -PRIMARY schools throughout St. Kitts are currently preparing for the 10th Annual FINCO Primary School Drama Festival scheduled to take place from October 27 to 29 under the theme “Moving forward, 10 years of excellent drama”.
According to Moses Byron, Coordinator for the drama festival and Drama teacher of the primary schools, the festival is being organised by the Drama Department of the Ministry of Education and the sponsor, FINCO.
He noted that the festival would take place in zones. The first competition will take place in the west zone at the Sandy Point community centre, the second one in the Basseterre zone at Basseterre High School, and the final day in the east zone at the Saddlers Primary School.
Byron also informed SKNVibes that the children would dramatise social issues pertaining to the community, adding there would be a ‘Best of the Best’ showcase, where the best from each zone would perform at the Basseterre High School on Thursday, November 5.
Each day of the Drama Festival begins at 5:00 p.m. with an admission of $2 for children and $5 for adults.
St. Joseph Primary School is the defending champion.
