St. Kitts and Nevis continues to receive blessings in celebration of its 38th Anniversary Independence

    Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 18, 2021 (SKNIS): St. Kitts and Nevis will be celebrating 38 years of Independence on Sunday, September 19. Against this backdrop, world leaders and other prominent figures continue to extend blessings and congratulations to the Federation on this auspicious occasion.

     

    One such message was received from the Republic of Nicaragua, signed by Comandante Daniel Ortega Saavedra, President of the Republic of Nicaragua, and Rosario Murillo, Vice President, and addressed to the Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, and the Honourable Mark Brantley, Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs and Aviation and Premier of Nevis.

     

    “On the special occasion of commemorating the 38th Anniversary of Independence of the Federation of Saint Christopher and Nevis, this coming 19th September, allow us to convey a warm revolutionary greeting on behalf of the People and Government of Reconciliation and National Unity of the Republic of Nicaragua. We join the people of Saint Kitts and Nevis in this joyous celebration, which represents a watershed moment in the national history and which applauds the victories and freedom, national sovereignty and independence; sacred rights on the basis of which prosperous, just and equitable societies are built.”

     

    In the congratulatory letter, the Government of the Republic of Nicaragua reaffirmed the country’s commitment to further strengthening the bond between both countries.

     

    “We are filled with pride as we express our desire to continue strengthening the historical bonds of fraternity, solidarity and Caribbean cooperation that unite us with the people and Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis and accordingly, we reiterate our steadfast commitment to continue working together to overcome the challenges we face as brothers who share the Caribbean Sea.”
