BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - POLICE have informed that the man who was shot and killed yesterday (Sept. 23) in St. Kitts was identified as 34-year-old Kishaun Ritchen of Newtown.
In a statement, the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force indicated that close to 8:00 p.m. yesterday officers had responded to a shooting incident in Newtown.
On arrival, they found the motionless body of Ritchen lying in Agatha Johnson Lane.
Preliminary investigations so far revealed that Ritchen and another individual were walking along Agatha Johnson Lane when a masked gunman ran up behind him and shot him.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by the District Medical Officer.
Personnel from the Forensic Services Unit had processed the scene from which several items of evidential value were taken into custody.
Investigations are ongoing and the police are urging persons, who might have information regarding this matter, to contact the Violent Crimes Unit by dialling 467-1887, 467-1888, 662-3468, the nearest police station or the Crime Hotline at 707 “where information can be given anonymously”.
