CHARLESTOWN, Nevis - A probe is underway in Nevis to find the perpetrators who were involved in a late night shooting incident that resulted in the death of two young men.
Lawmen said that an investigation was launched into a double homicide that occurred last night (Oct. 22) on Pinney’s Beach in Nevis, where two men were fatally wounded.
SKNVibes understands that the men were on the beach at around 10:00 p.m. when masked gunmen approached and fired a number of shots at them.
Media reports suggested that the two young men were gunned down on the beach at Sunshine's Bar.
The men were identified as 21-year-old Shaheem Farrell of Church Ground and 23-year old Xavia Howell of Morning Star.
This incident comes at a period of quietude in the Federation as the Government slowly moves to lift the COVID-19 regulations.
Commenting on the shooting incident, Premier Mark Brantley wrote in part on social media that “I am heartbroken that our beloved island has again been hit by senseless violence. My heartfelt condolences to the families and friends that today are mourning”.
Howell’s father put out an emotional plea via social media calling for no retribution of last evening’s incident.
