BASSETERRE, ST. Kitts - THE Police Force is calling on anyone with information that could lead to the arrest and successful prosection of the perpetrators of Friday night’s (Oct. 22) shooting incident on Nevis that resulted in the death of two young men.
This comes as the law enforcement agency has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the brazen late night incident at a bar on the island at Pinney’s Beach.
According to a police press release, officers had responded to a report around 10:00 p.m. on the day in question of gunshots heard at Pinney’s Beach.
On arrival, they found the motionless bodies of 21-year-old Shaheem Farrell of Church Ground and 23-year-old Xavier Howell of Morning Star in the area.
The release stated that personnel from the Forensic Services Unit had processed the scene and several items of evidential value were taken into custody.
It also stated that the circumstances surrounding the men’s death are unclear at this time.
However, as investigations into the matter are ongoing, they are appealing to anyone with information about this incident to contact the Charlestown Police Station by dialling 469-5391, the nearest police station or the Crime Hotline at 707.
The two deaths have taken to 10 the number of homicides committed in the Federation for this year.
