Update on fire that left one dead

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - INVESTIGATIONS continue into the death of  18-year-old Annica Carey, who had perished last Thursday (Oct. 21) in a house fire on Wellington Road in the vicinity of the Old Sugar Factory.

     

    Police reported that a second person, 23-year-old Kevaune Rodriquez, was severely injured in the incident. 
     
    The Police Force reported that it received a report of a house fire at Kittstodarts and upon arrival at the scene officers met members of the St. Kitts and Nevis Fire and Rescue Services present. 
     
    Fire officers had found the residents of the house, Carey and Rodriquez, inside the structure.  
     
    Carey was pronounced dead by the District Medical Doctor and an autopsy has been scheduled to determine her exact cause of death.

     

    Rodriquez received severe burns about the body and is currently warded at the JNF General Hospital in a critical condition.
