Woman found with firearm, ammo at night spot entrance

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - In their continuous effort to make the the Federation a safer place for citizens and residents as well as visitors, members of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force have removed yet another illegal firearm off the streets.

     

    This time, it involves a  29-year-old female who was yesterday (Oct. 26) remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison after officers had found an illegal firearm and a a quantity of ammunition in her possession.

     

    According to a police statement, she is Sylaine Phipps of Boyds Village.

     

    Police stated that during a security check at the entrance of a night spot in Basseterre on Friday (Oct. 22), a Beretta PX4 Storm Pistol and several rounds of ammunition were found in Phipps’ bag.

     

    She and another individual were subsequently taken into custody. Yesterday, however, only Phipps was charged with the offences of Possession of Firearm and Possession of Ammunition and remanded to prison.
