CXC® Registrar and Team pay courtesy call on Prime Minister Gonsalves of St Vincent and the Grenadines

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – Dr Wayne Wesley, Registrar and CEO, the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC®) paid a courtesy call on Dr The Honourable Ralph E. Gonsalves, Prime Minister of St Vincent and the Grenadines, on Friday 29 October 2021, following the Official Release of Results Ceremony for the Second Sitting of the 2021 Examinations for CAPE®, CSEC® and CCSLC®, occasioned by the disruption caused by the La Soufrière volcanic eruption.

During the courtesy call, fruitful discussions took place which addressed mutual areas of concern in solidarity with the people of St Vincent and the Grenadines and the transformation of the national and regional educational agenda.

Shortly after the discussions, Dr Wesley presented Prime Minister Gonsalves with "A History of the Caribbean Examinations Council (1973–2013) – Regional Relevance, International Credibility."

Also present at the meeting were the Honourable Curtis King, Minister of Education and Reconciliation, Mr Myccle Burke, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mr Dixton Findlay, Deputy Chief Education Officer, Mrs Bernadette Greaves, Senior Education Officer for Exams and Assessment, Dr James Young, Item Bank Manager, CXC® and Mr Richard Rose, Corporate Communications Manager, CXC®.

During the visit to St Vincent and the Grenadines (25–30 October 2021), the Registrar and his team also paid a courtesy call on the Honourable Curtis King, Minister of Education and  Reconciliation, and hosted a focus group with students from Bishop’s College, St Martin’s Secondary School, St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College, Dr J.P. Eustace Memorial Secondary, North Union Secondary School and St Vincent Girls’ High School. The focus group was hosted at the St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College.
