Rawlins Village resident charged following gun find

    CHARLESTOWN, Nevis -- POLICE have charged 22-year-old Augustus Freeman of Rawlins Village for the offences of Possession of Firearm, Possession of Ammunition and Smuggling for an October 27th incident.

     

    It was revealed that Freeman was charged in connection with the discovery of an H & K P30 firearm that was found in a vehicle from which he exited.

     

    Police said that when officers approached the motorcar Freeman was in, while in the Rawlins Village area, he fled.   

     

    Freeman later turned himself in accompanied by a family member. He was two days later charged and has been remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison.

     

    This latest find comes just over a week since police revealed that 26-year-old Tyrique Jones of Wades Garden was charged for the offences of Possession of Firearm and Possession of Ammunition.

     

    Jones, a police officer, was charged in connection with the discovery of  a Beretta PX4 Storm Pistol and several matching rounds of .9mm ammunition. He was charged after security at the Dubai Nightclub on Fort Street, during entry checks, found the weapon in the purse belonging to 29-year-old Sylaine Phipps of Boyds Village.

     

    Phipps was also charged with Possession of a Firearm and Possession of Ammunition.
