Nanton accident being probed

By: Staff Reporter, SKNVibes

CHARLESTOWN, Nevis -- AN investigation has been launched into a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Monday (Nov. 8) which left two nursing injuries.

Police said the incident occurred shortly after 9 a.m. and involved motor truck P1615, owned by Solid Waste Management, which was being driven by Deonarine Harrylall at time.

Investigations into the incident thus far revealed that P1615 was being pulled by another Solid Waste Management truck towards Charlestown when Harrylall lost control at Nanton Corner.

The truck bumped the side wall and ended up several feet away from the road where it overturned. Devon Richardson, who was a passenger in the truck, was trapped inside.

Members of the St. Kitts and Nevis Fire and Rescue Services arrived at the scene and helped to extricate him using the Jaws of Life.

Both occupants of the vehicle were transported to the Alexandra Hospital where they are warded in a stable condition. Harrylall suffered injuries to the face and Richardson suffered several broken fingers and a broken wrist.
