CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – A male resident of Stoney Grove, Charlestown is nursing gunshot wounds at the Alexandra Hospital after being attacked by an unidentified gunman or gunmen last night (Oct. 22).
Twenty-one-year-old Adrian ‘Buck’ Harris sustained shot wounds to his upper left arm and the little finger on his right hand during the attack, which occurred shortly after 10:00 p.m. in the Prospect area.
Speaking to SKNVibes from his hospital bed, Harris said he had just left work at the Nevis Electricity Company Power Plant at 10:00 p.m. and was heading to the island’s main road to catch a bus for home. He said that on arrival at the woodwork shop, he heard the sound of gunshots and started to run. According to Harris, a bullet struck him in his upper left arm and another grazed his little finger.
“I still continued running and reached as far as Noels Car Rental, where I was taken to the hospital by a lady there,” said Harris. Harris stated that he did not see anyone during the attack.
Harris is expected to undergo surgery next week to remove the bullet from his arm.
Head of the Criminal Investigation Department on Nevis, Inspector Hilroy Brandy told this media house that no one has been arrested and investigations are ongoing.
