BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, (October 22nd 2009) - On Wednesday 21st October 2009, officers of the Drug Squad, SSU, FIU and the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force executed a search warrant on the premises Willis and Perdita Browne of Saddlers Village for controlled drugs arms and ammunition and documents used in the commission of a crime. A quantity of marijuana was found and taken into custody along with several documents and a sum of EC and US currency. Willis and Perdita Browne were arrested and charged for possession of cannabis and possession of cannabis with intent to supply. They were subsequently released on bail.
An island wide stop and search operation was also conducted resulting in 50 persons being stopped and searched on suspicion of having controlled drugs arms and ammunition, nothing illegal was found on them, but quantities of marijuana was found in the area of the searches and taken into custody.
