CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – AMID news of the arrival of the second wave of the Pandemic H1N1 virus, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Patrick Martin has urged members of the public to practice good nutrition and hydration, and get adequate rest and exercise as a means to not only fight the virus but other illnesses as well. Weekend Vibes thought this was an opportune time to ask Nevisians how concerned they are about their health and well-being.
Jamdem - About 40 percent of Nevisians are concerned about their health. We need to work together in order to have good health. Seek God first and everything will come after.
Arielle - They are not concerned. They have a fear of knowing their health status. Check up necessary at least every six months will help deter sickness. They act as if they are concerned but they are not.
Sheneka - Nevisians are not very concerned. They only do checkups if its life threatening. They need to show more concern for their health in order to survive longer.
Vincent - They are very concerned but they just don’t care much about life and the risks they take in life.
Emily - I am very concerned about my health and well-being, eating well and exercising and having regular doctor checkups. But I think some Nevisians need to be more concerned and interested in their health.
Esme – Personally, I am very concerned about my health. Most people try to eat healthy and by eating healthy they survive longer. Some property owners have to keep the surroundings clean because the environment affects our health. Cleanliness is next to godliness.
