BASSETERRE, St. Kitts -- THE St. Kitts-Nevis Labour has a new leader following the conclusion of its National Convention which was held at the St. Kitts Marriotts today.
According to reports out of the business segment of the convention, Dr. Drew garnered 184 votes to beat out close colleagues Dr. Geoffrey Hanley (70) and Konris Maynard (153).
This is the first time in 32 years that the party will have a new leader following the departure of Dr. Denzil Douglas from the helm of the party following the brutal defeat at last year’s election.
Drew will now have to rebuild the party after it suffered consecutive election defeats and many complaining of the length of time one person has served at the top.
