BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - FOR the third time in his decades-long career, Oscar Browne, popularly known as King Astro, was last evening (Dec. 30) declared winner of the Senior Kaiso Competition.
The Finals, which was held at Carnival Village, brought the curtains down on the major events of the Annual Festival that was scaled back due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In his triumphant march in the competition, King Astro beat out seven other competitors including some of the big names in the calypso arena.
Singing ‘Resiliience & Pay To Live’, he tallied 710 points, while King Socrates secured the First Runner-up spot with 698 and he was followed by Lady Diva with 696 points.
In winning this competition, King Astro has also won the bragging rights for the coming year.
