BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE Body of a young man was found on Saturday (Jan. 8) by members of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force hanging by the neck in his home.
The dead man’s name was given as 31-year-old Brent Pereira of Fountain Estate.
According to a police statement, ranks had responded to a report of an unnatural death at Pereira’s home and, upon their arrival Pereira was found hanging by the neck inside the house.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by the District Medical Officer.
Police stated that the circumstances surrounding the incident are unclear at this time and investigations into the matter are ongoing.
Personnel from the Forensic Department had visited and processed the scen and an an autopsy is be carried out shortly to determine the exact cause of Pereira’s death.
