BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - PRISON officials in Antigua and Barbuda are on the hunt for an escapee, who made good his get away from the penitentiary during lunchtime yesterday (Feb. 8).
By midafternoon, the Prison Administration issued a statement urging the public to be on the lookout for escapee, Shanell Thomas.
Prison officials said that Thomas was out working on the farm when he disappeared, stunning most as he was up for release in 2026.
Media reports describe him as serving time for a number of convictions, including kidnapping. He is now likely to serve more jail time.
The Antigua Observer reported that Thomas is a Dominican national and could be on his way back home.
