Twelve Community Stalwarts To Be Honored At The Fifth Annual Afro-Caribbean Black History Gala & Awards To Be Held In Boston

Boston/February 24, 2022/CMM Inc….Twelve community stalwarts will be honored at the Fifth Annual Afro-Caribbean Black History Gala & Awards put on by the Authentic Caribbean Foundation (ACF) on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Florian Hall, Boston. The evening will begin with a cocktail reception at 6:00 followed by an exciting program at 7:00, which will feature a live band. 
 
The event will be hybrid, in-person and virtual and will be streamed live on the ACF YouTube channel. Donations at three levels can be made via Eventbrite: $40 (virtual admission), $50 (in-person), or $300 (table). Expected to be in attendance are state, city, and county representatives as well as community leaders, Caribbean Diaspora members, and other invited guests.
 
The Afro-Caribbean Black History Gala & Awards reception recognizes Caribbean-Americans in Massachusetts who have contributed to the development of the Caribbean Diaspora community. The 12 honorees are drawn from a wide cross-section of the community and represent a variety of interests. Headliners for the evening’s awards will be Buelah Providence, Caribbean Association of Boston; Dr. Geraldene Gabeau, Immigrant Family Services Institute; Maurice Lindsay, Lindsay Entertainment Network; Garfield Wint, Tropics Food Market; Marcus James, SPS International and Restauranteurs; Hanif Abrahim, Ali’s Roti Restaurant; and Arleen Thomas-Campbell, Country Kitchen Restaurant. 
 
Special Awards will be bestowed on Randolph Town Councilor, Natacha Clerger and  Boston City Councilor at At-Large, Julia Mejia; Regina Snowden, Partners for Youth with Disabilities; Arnetta and Carl Baty, Rounding the Bases; and Miranda Alexander, Caribbean Community in Philadelphia. 
 
“We are thrilled once again to honour those among us who have shown leadership, compassion and kindness in our community. Each, in his or her own way has impacted the community in a positive way and for that we are proud,” said Andrew Sharpe, ACF Chairman and Founder.
