New Columbian Ambassador Presents Credentials to Saint Kitts and Nevis

    Thursday, 3rd March 2022 -- The Republic of Colombia’s newly accredited Ambassador to Saint Kitts and Nevis His Excellency Jairo Raul Clopatofsky Ghisays, on Monday, 21st February 2022 presented credentials to the Governor-General of Saint Kitts and Nevis His Excellency Sir S.W. Tapley Seaton. The presentation took place in a brief ceremony held at Government House. 

     

    The 19th – 23rd February 2022 visit saw courtesy calls made on several senior government officials, including, but not limited to, Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Dr. The Honourable Timothy Harris. In that meeting, Prime Minister Harris expressed gratitude for the assistance that Colombia provided to Saint Kitts and Nevis during the COVID-19 pandemic.

     

    Ambassador Clopatofsky also called on Minister of Foreign Affairs and Aviation, the Honourable Mark Brantley, during which engagement both diplomats highlighted areas in which the bilateral relationship could be deepened and strengthened.

     

    The new Ambassador called further on Minister of Tourism and Transport, the Honourable Lindsay Grant, and used that occasion to express the need for deeper communication in tourism between Saint Kitts and Nevis and Colombia, while committing to scheduling a Ministerial Meeting between both countries.

     

    The visit culminated with a meeting with Education Minister, the Honourable Jonel Powell, who advocated for closer collaboration with the Government of Colombia on language training and best practices in the area of differently-abled children and adults.
