07th March, 2022 -- The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) wish to alert the public of a high wind advisory which is in effect for the federation of St. Kitts and Nevis and neighbouring eastern islands.
High gusty winds resulting from a tightening pressure gradient, will continue to transport pockets of low level moisture across the area which could lead to a moderate chance for shower activity over and around the islands occasionally during the next 24 hours.
Residents are asked to secure loose, light outdoor items which can be blown away and caution should be taken when driving.
Winds are East- northeast at 16 to 24mph, gusting as high as 31mph during showers, as well as over open waters and in elevated areas.
High surf and small craft advisories remain in place mainly for the north and eastern coastlines of the islands..

Michelle Rodriques
