Nevis Island Administration’s (NIA), Ministry of Health and Gender Affairs to host free youth focused, edu-taining 3-in-1 event dubbed Music & A Message on Sunday 27th March at 4:00 p.m.
Music & Message which coincidentally falls on World Theatre Day, features a suite of inspiring and impactful activities to re-energize our young people. It will kick off with a light 30 minutes conversation featuring Dejour and Reigning Culturama Queen, Nayala Daniel in a panel discussion to talk excellence, keeping up in the life as full time creatives.
It will continue to flow into a dynamic theatrical production spotlighting the global prevalence and burden of depressive and anxiety disorders, rise in HIV/AIDS cases, cervical cancer among young people. The star-studded line up includes performances by Delly Ranks, Dejour, Venelle Powell, Collin Wyatt, Ali-Dee, LEAP Nevis, Poise SKN, Leandre Dyer and much more is expected to capture the appetite of the youth before culminating the evening with a balloon release.
Minister responsible for Health & Gender, Senator Hon. Hazel Brandy-Williams stated that “we believe that is within our remit to creatively sensitise the public, especially the affected group to discourage actions that continue to perpetuate the prevalence of the issues we have chosen to focus on.”
She also indicated that “it is our hope that we will be able to re-energize young people and give them something to look forward to.”
The Ministry hopes to host this event annually as a platform to address issues affecting our socio-economic space.
In addition to the live audience experience, this high-quality production will be streamed on, youtube and facebook in an effort to expand the reach of the message.
