Friday 25th, March 2022 -- People’s Labour Party (PLP) as a strong democratic political organisation, upheld the Rule of Law and fulfilled its constitutional obligations by successfully hosting its 6th Annual National Convention Private Session. This was held last night Thursday 24th March, 2022, at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort Ball Room.
The venue was covered in a sea of orange, with the National Executive and the delegates from all Eight (8) Constituency Groups in attendance. The event started with a reception where everyone mingled with each other. The Deputy National Party Leader, the Honourable Akilah ByronNisbett and the National Party Leader, Leader of The Team Unity Movement and Prime Minister of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. Hon. Timothy Harris arrived with great fanfare and acclamation.
The Private Session was called to order by the National Chairman, Mr. Warren Thompson, followed by prideful and exuberate singing of the National Anthem by all present. The Chairman of PLP Constituency #5 Group, Mr. Glenville Mills, gave a power opening prayer asking for GOD’s guidance, protection and wisdom to cover over the leadership of the party. The National Chairman delivered welcome remarks. The Convention then deliberated and approved a number of resolutions. The conduct of Elections resulted in the National Executive bring returned unopposed.
There is now great anticipation and expectation for the upcoming public session of the 6th Annual National Convention to be held on Saturday 26th March 2022 at the Patsy Allers Playfield, starting at 4:00pm. It promises to be a grand affair.
